My family was the epitome of Colonial South Africa. Incredibly strict regarding etiquette, eating, manners, and acting like a gentleman from even a very young age. Yet at the same time, walking through the bush, with monkeys, deadly venomous snakes, and animals to go surfing 12-foot waves as they crashed over rocks ... all perfectly ok. But oh! Get caught eating with your mouth open, using the wrong fork, or talking about yourself ... and all hell would break lose! 🤪
