Welcome to my Book Page

As an academic I enjoy seeking, creating and redefining knowledge for dissemination to research scientists, colleagues, students and the general public. I have sections in this webpage for papers, journals and encyclopedia articles I have written which, by default, are written for research scientists. Conversely, this book section is for dissemination of knowledge to students and non-academics. My first published book is "iPhone and iPad Apps For Absolute Beginners" focused on maneuvering beginners. I do have two more books in the works. One based on an NSF grant and patent I am the recipient of that involves an iPhone app the assists those afflicted with an addiction.

Sold at all Barnes & Nobles and Border's Bookstores in the US, Canada and the UK together with incredible sales at Amazon.com (see rankings links to the right). The basis of the book was that I was fascinated by how nearly all the students who were fascinated with the prospect of me teaching the class were non-engineers yet the language of the iPhone and iPad is Objective-C which is incredibly difficult. My goal was to find a way to teach very difficult code to students who had never programmed in their life. Luckily the craziness of it worked. I was lucky
